We LOVE you Charice

Charice is back in the Philippines after her much-talked-about performance at a number of events before the inauguration of United States President Barack Obama, but she will soon be returning to the US to record her first international album. Charice and her mother, Raquel Pempengco, arrived in Manila Thursday night. She said she was very happy that, although she did not personally meet Obama, she was able to impress Maya Soetoro-Ng, the US president’s sister, when she sang at the Pearl Presidential Inaugural Gala. Reports said Soetoro-Ng was moved to tears because of her rendition of “God Bless America.” Charice also attended an event at the Hyatt Hotel commemorating the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.. She also performed at the Philippine Embassy in the US. While in Washington, Charice revealed that she also encountered Oprah Winfrey. “Nag-hi lang ako sa kanya. Kinamusta ko lang po, kumustahan lang po,” she said. Staying in America Charice, who will take a short break in the country, is set fly back to the US to record her first international album. Charice said she has to stay in the US for three months to record the songs. There were also talks that Charice was set to host a show produced by Winfrey. The young singer, however, said she is not yet aware of such project. Kung magkakaroon po,” she said. When asked if she is now leaving the Philippines for good, Charice replied: “Hindi naman iiwan.
‘More work’
Charice will also be part of “Wowowee’s” show in Dubai.
For Valentine’s Day, Charice said she hopes that she and American Idol Season 7’s first runner-up David Archuleta can do a duet if the latter’s show in the country pushes through next month.
In May, Charice will join a concert of international composer David Foster in Las Vegas. She will also celebrate her 17th birthday in the US, she said.
